Sandra Albers
About the Artist
Sandra, originally from Brazil, is a multidisciplinary artist based in the United States. Her practice spans painting, sculpture, and photography, with a strong focus on the human form and expressive storytelling.
She studied classical portraiture at the Art Students League of New York and began painting while working in banking technology, using art as a creative counterbalance. She later expanded into sculpture through studies at University of Wisconsin–La Crosse and continues developing her photography practice through coursework with Cornell University.
Sandra’s work often explores movement, identity, and the connection between art and athletics. As a former volleyball player, she is particularly interested in capturing the body in motion and the quiet strength within performance. She is also the founder of Artesã Gallery, an artist-run space focused on fostering creative practice and community.
Through her work, Sandra seeks to create space for expression, connection, and empowerment.
